AMINAL is an emerging Exeter-based company led by performing artists Kelly Marie Miller and Jonny R. Rowden, both theatre-makers working in Exeter.

IMG_4072Kelly has recently completed her PhD in Performance Practice from the University of Exeter. As a performer Kelly has worked with Aasakta, Kaleider, Theatre Rush, Out of Hand Theatre, and Phillip Zarrilli across several different dramaturgies. Kelly is also a resident artist at Kaleider who commissioned her most recent performance project, Running | Out of Time. Her artistic interests lie in participatory, one-on-one, and audio performance.

IMG_4111Jonny graduated from Plymouth University’s Performance Practice MA with distinction in 2012. Since then he has worked as a performer with Kaleider, Alice Tatton-Brown, The Bike Shed Theatre, Steven Paige and Tom Pritchard. He also worked as a collaborative artist and performer with Blind Ditch on their digital triptych, This City’s Centre. His creative interests lie in participatory, food-based, and public performance.

AMINAL was formed following conversations regarding our shared interest in current social and environmental issues, and performance. We explore relevant ways in which we can encourage audiences to consider these issues, and discover creative and playful ways in which they can be examined, while maintaining a sense of their urgency.

AMINAL is also a resident of Kaleider who generously support their growth and development in a creative environment.
